Best of Houzz Award

For the second year in a row (and last 3 of 4), DMA has been awarded Best of Houzz in the Design category for having some of the most popular images on this online catalog of architectural images in 2015.  According to Houzz only 3% of professionals receive the design award. Just for the year 2015, this photos was added to 1,600 idea books and seen in a photo stream over 190,000 times.  Our photos have been viewed over 1 million time on Houzz just in the last year.  Mainestay

DMA visited the Mainestay recently, our second house in the Kelsey Brook development in Freeport.  The owners have been in for a few weeks and have done a great job decorating their house. We hope to come back in the spring/summer to take additional exterior photos, as there will need to be some work after mud season.  The design is similar to our Lean Too homes, but with some added space in the living room, and a first floor master bedroom suite. The Maine Home & Remodeling Show

Mark your calendars for the Maine Home & Remodeling Show scheduled for Feb 13 and 14 at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.  DMA is located at booth #130, and would love to see some of our friends.  Saturday the show is from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday is from 10am to 4pm.  We have a few complimentary tickets to give away if you are planning on attending, please contact Cathy. Construction is nearing completion on the Ranch Make-Over in Yarmouth, construction by Rideout & Turner. Not only are the living spaces  opened to incredible views of the water, but the new entry into the house now gives one a wonderful glimpse of Casco Bay. The custom Cherry cabinetry by Fiddlehead Designs creates a distinctive signature in the kitchen, breakfast nook, wet bar, and bathrooms. 20160127 083129

So You Think You Know Bath – 10 Years

Planning is underway for what we consider to be one of the best and most fun nights in Bath.    Sponsored by Main Street Bath (at the Maine Maritime Museum on Friday, March 18)  So You Think You Know Bath will celebrate it’s 10th and final year.  As usual, David will be running the spotlight for the game show. This year is being dedicated to the long time host, Tom Pagnotti, who sadly passed away late last year. sytykb

Who knew building in Maine in the winter was so easy? The weather has cooperated with construction and enabled the Harpswell Get Away Boat House to begin construction.  The boat house will also include a two-bedroom guest house overlooking the water. DMA started working with the owner’s interior designer, Bradley Bowden Design, this week. Construction by Oceanside Builders. 20160125 101835

On the Drawing Board

DMA recently received unanimous approval from the Planning Board to replace a house at a homeowner’s association along the Yarmouth waterfront.  Maintaining the same footprint, with one little addition, this energy efficient house, Homewood Bound, will feature double-thick walls and a much improved interior environment.
