January 2016 (No. 41)

Welcome to our newsletter…a little late this month due to some technical email difficulties. Usually, once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

DMA would like to thank our friends, family, contractors, consultants and clients for making 2015 a very good year. We have worked on a variety of projects in Maine and Massachusetts that include restaurants, offices, warehouses, schools, and many residential projects.  We enjoy what we do, but it would not be possible without the trust that our clients place in us.  Maine Home + Design

The January issue of Maine Home + Design features our Couples Cottage, On A Poland Pond.  The wonderful photos were taken on a very cold day last winter by Rachel Sieben Photography.  David enjoyed discussing the project with the writer, Sarah Stebbins, who did a great job capturing the essence of the design of the cottage. Solo Bistro

We enjoyed a dual Christmas party with Greg Day Lighting at one of our favorite restaurants, Solo Bistro, in Bath. Pictured is our firm with families in the stone-walled basement of the restaurant. 20151222 184159 300x169

Views from the job site

The Bridge House, under construction by Senecal Construction Services, has been framed, and the land bridge is quite dramatic. Fortunately, the newly constructed roof kept the snow out. 20151230 122950 300x169

Alisson’s Restaurant

Construction by Leo Richardson will be starting immediately  at Alisson’s Restaurant & Pub.  DMA has been working with the owner to renovate the interior of this well-established  restaurant in the middle of Kennebunkport. A fresh new aesthetic of Douglas Fir and built-in booths, with the removal of the dated brick and brass, will update and modernize this  long-standing  downtown restaurant. 20151125 112515 300x169

Twisted Christmas

David’s stage debut during Studio of Bath’s Twisted Christmas was a big hit. We played the parts of a married couple mixing up their signals.  As David said, he wasn’t acting he was just playing himself.  The 5 minute performance is located here. See you at next year’s performance! twisted 300x200

On the Drawing Board

Recently approved by the Portland Historic Preservation board, DMA is working on a new deck and patio for Amigo’s Restaurant and Bar in the middle of the Old Port in Portland. Photo1 300x200
